About the club

Serres de Pals is a golf and sports club at Mas Gelabert in Pals, in the province of Girona, Catalonia. For golfers visiting the Costa Brava, its setting is part of the appeal: the club sits among the rice fields of Pals, beside the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park.

Golf in an agricultural landscape

Golf Serres de Pals reopened in 2023. Originally designed by Ramon Espinosa, the nine-hole, par-36 course runs through rice fields, vineyards and olive groves. These cultivated landscapes give the course its local context, with the surrounding countryside forming a central part of the experience.

The course has two configurations to keep in mind when planning a visit: the nine-hole, par-36 layout and an executive option played from the orange tees. The latter provides a shorter way to play the same course, rather than a separate golf facility.

Orange tees and the golf academy

The orange-tee executive course measures 1,891 metres. It is intended for young golfers, older players and beginners, making this an option worth noting for visitors at different stages of their golfing lives.

Serres de Pals also has a golf academy. Golf tuition therefore forms part of the club’s offering alongside the course itself. For a visitor looking beyond the main layout, the academy and the orange tees are two distinct aspects of the golf facilities to consider.

Water use and course management

The course uses reclaimed water from the Pals wastewater treatment plant. It also applies measures to reduce water consumption and the use of plant-protection products.

These are specific features of its maintenance approach, at a club whose location is closely associated with rice cultivation and the neighbouring natural park. They add another dimension to understanding how the golf course fits into its surroundings.

Beyond the golf course

A visit need not focus solely on golf. The club’s sports offering also includes padel, football, beach football and beach volleyball, and it hosts events. This range of activities makes Mas Gelabert a venue for more than a round of golf.

The golf academy, padel, football, beach football, beach volleyball and events each have their own entry in the guide. Together, they show the different sporting and event facilities available at Serres de Pals.
