About the club
Golf Lerma brings together two 18-hole, par-72 courses in the province of Burgos, in Castilla y León. Golf de Lerma occupies a former hunting estate, while Saldaña Golf lies beside the Nacional I road, six kilometres from Burgos. For a golf trip, the two layouts offer different settings, supported by a golf school, clubhouse, shop and restaurant.
Golf de Lerma: golf on a former estate
Designed by Pepe Gancedo and built in 1992, Golf de Lerma occupies La Andaya, a former hunting estate of 220 hectares. Holm oaks, junipers and oaks shape the surroundings, which also include wildlife and eight lakes.
Four sets of tees provide the following playing lengths:
- White: 6,378 metres.
- Yellow: 5,974 metres.
- Blue: 5,338 metres.
- Red: 5,056 metres.
These give golfers a choice of distances over the same 18-hole, par-72 layout. The estate setting, trees and lakes are the defining features of the course.
Saldaña Golf: close to Burgos
Saldaña Golf is beside the Nacional I, six kilometres from Burgos, making its location useful to know when planning a round from the city. Pepe Gancedo and Laureano Nomen designed this varied 18-hole, par-72 course.
Water is a recurring feature: there are nine lakes, and a stream comes into play on five holes. The four tee lengths are:
- White: 6,541 metres.
- Yellow: 6,042 metres.
- Blue: 5,573 metres.
- Red: 5,033 metres.
Food and facilities beyond the round
The club's facilities include a golf school, clubhouse, golf shop and swimming pool, alongside its events and tournament activity. The children's golf school has its own guide page, as do the restaurant and the other facilities.
For visitors interested in local food as well as golf, Restaurante Golf Lerma serves Castilian cooking. Its offerings include suckling lamb roasted in a wood-fired oven and a daily set menu, giving the restaurant a clear regional focus.
Tournaments and club events
The club hosted a round of Golf Camiño a Compostela, a circuit comprising ten tournaments in 2024. It also hosts events in the Liga Agencia Reale Burgos, played at Lerma and Saldaña during September, October and November.
The Parador de Lerma tournament pairs golf with a prize-giving cocktail reception at the Parador Ducal. Other events have included a Christmas charity tournament, when the club provided a food collection point for the Banco de Alimentos de Burgos. The 2025 calendar also included tournaments in different formats and regional competitions, reflecting the range of competitive golf associated with the club.
