About the club

Golf de Pals brings together an 18-hole woodland course and a range of club facilities in Pals, in the province of Girona, Catalonia. For golfers planning a visit to the Costa Brava, the course offers a par of 73, a design by Sir F. W. Hawtree and four sets of tees measuring from 5,127 to 6,263 metres.

Golf is only part of the club’s offering. A clubhouse restaurant, padel, a golf and padel academy, a children’s summer camp, and tournaments and events sit alongside the course. These give visitors several aspects of the club to consider when planning time here, rather than looking at the round alone.

The course at a glance

The woodland setting is a defining feature of Golf de Pals. Its 18 holes can be played from four tee colours, with the following total lengths:

  • White tees: 6,263 metres.
  • Yellow tees: 5,970 metres.
  • Blue tees: 5,390 metres.
  • Red tees: 5,127 metres.

These figures provide a useful starting point when comparing the available distances before a visit. All four sets of tees serve the same par-73 course, but the total length varies with the chosen starting points.

From nine holes to eighteen

The idea for the course came from Baltasar Parera Vilar and Rosa Coll Llach in the 1960s. The first nine holes opened in 1966; the full 18-hole layout was completed in 1970.

Those two dates mark separate stages in the club’s development. The earlier date records the start of play, rather than the opening of all 18 holes. Hawtree’s design is therefore part of a project that took shape over several years, from the original idea to the completed course.

Facilities beyond the round

The Clubhouse Restaurant is the club’s dining facility. Padel adds another sport to the offering, while the academy covers both golf and padel. For visitors interested in activities for children, the club also has a summer camp.

Tournaments and events form another part of club life. The restaurant, padel facilities, academy, summer camp, and tournaments and events each have their own page in this guide, allowing you to explore those parts of Golf de Pals separately from the course itself.
