REAL CLUB SEVILLA GOLF

A few kilometres from Seville, Real Club Sevilla Golf brings together a José María Olazábal course and a broader sporting and social club in Alcalá de Guadaíra. For golfers visiting the area, its tournament record is a useful introduction: this is a layout that has hosted both Spanish and international competition, including the 2004 World Cup.

The Olazábal course

Founded in 1991, the club opened its course in 1992. The 18-hole, par-72 layout measures 6,529 metres and combines wide fairways with undulating greens, 90 bunkers and nine lakes. It is a demanding yet enjoyable course, designed to accommodate high-level competition. The generous fairways are only one part of its character; sand, water and the contours of the putting surfaces complete the picture.

Alongside the World Cup, the club has hosted three editions of the Spanish Open, the Andalucía Open and the Challenge Tour. It also staged the 2026 Spanish Men's Amateur Championship, with 120 participants. That competitive history is a significant part of the course's identity.

Trees, wildlife and course care

The course covers 61 hectares and contains more than 10,000 trees. Its surroundings have an interest beyond the golf itself: a study recorded 120 bird species on the grounds. The club's bird guide gathers information about those species and encourages an interest in local wildlife.

The site was transformed from former wasteland, bringing environmental benefits to the local ecosystem. Reclaimed water is used to irrigate the course and green spaces, while annual autumn overseeding helps maintain a well-kept presentation throughout the year.

Beyond the round

Golf facilities include a driving range and a pro shop, and the club also provides event services. Tennis, padel and fitness form part of its wider sporting programme, with swimming pools among its summer activities. These give the club a role beyond its tournament course.

Its own golf calendar includes the Gran Social de Verano tournament and the Copa Real Club Sevilla Golf, established in 2016 to mark the club's 25th anniversary. Younger players have a junior league using 18-, nine- and five-hole rounds for different age groups. Together, these activities reflect a club with a regular social and family programme as well as a record of hosting major competitions.
