Card room

At Real Club de Golf La Herrería in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid, the card room serves several purposes for club members. Playing cards is one use, but the room is also a place to meet, watch television or work. Its role is broader than its name might suggest.

A room for members

The lounge brings these different activities together in a single club space. Members can use it for a card game or a get-together, while television and work are also part of its everyday purpose. It is a versatile facility rather than a room devoted solely to cards.

More than card games

For a golfer learning about the club, the card room is part of the picture of what it offers its members. Alongside its use for games and meetings, it provides somewhere to work or watch television. Those shared uses define the room: a members’ lounge with several functions, rather than just a setting for a game of cards.
