Croquet

For golfers looking beyond golf itself, Real Club de Golf de Castiello also has a croquet facility. The club is in Gijón, Asturias, and its croquet activities include a school, competitions organised by the club and a group for informal games.

A certified croquet lawn

The croquet lawn opened in 2021. In 2022, it received an A or Excellent certification from the Spanish Croquet Federation. That recognition followed the opening of the facility the previous year and is a defining detail of the lawn at Castiello.

Learning, competition and informal play

Croquet at the club has several strands rather than being limited to organised competition. The school represents the teaching side of the activity, while the informal playing group provides a separate setting from the competitions run by the club.

Together, the lawn, school, competitions and informal group describe the place croquet holds at Castiello: a club activity with both a certified facility and an organised programme that includes teaching and informal games.
