LA MANGA CLUB

Cartagena · Costa Cálida

About the club

La Manga Club brings together three 18-hole golf courses in Cartagena, in Spain’s Region of Murcia. Set on the Costa Cálida, the complex combines golf with a hotel, spa, restaurants and several other sports. Its setting takes in the surroundings of Calblanque Natural Park and the nearby Mediterranean, giving a golf stay a coastal context.

For visitors planning a trip around more than their rounds, the range of facilities is an important part of the picture. Alongside golf, there is tennis, padel, pickleball and football, while the hotel and beach club offer other ways to spend time at the complex.

The golf and its history

The story began in 1972, when Gregory Peters set the creation of the complex in motion in the Atamaría area. Golf remains central to its identity, with three courses of 18 holes each and an academy among its facilities.

The South Course has a record of hosting professional competition, including Spanish Opens and PGA qualifying events. That tournament history is a useful reference for golfers getting to know La Manga Club and its place in competitive golf.

The North Course has a different point of distinction: its landscape features palm trees, lakes and natural ravines. These are defining elements of its setting within the complex. The South Course’s competition record and the North Course’s landscape offer two starting points for exploring the golf here.

Staying at the complex

Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa is the complex’s hotel. A spa and restaurants form part of the wider offering, together with La Cala Beach Club. For a visitor travelling with golf in mind, these facilities allow the stay to include time away from the courses as well.

The hotel, beach club and golf academy each have their own entry in this guide, making it possible to look at those parts of the complex separately.

Beyond the golf courses

The Racquets Club covers tennis and padel and also has a dedicated guide entry. Pickleball and football extend the sporting choice beyond golf and those two racket sports.

La Manga Club also caters for events and celebrations. Taken together, its courses, accommodation, dining, spa and sports facilities make this a complex with several strands to a visit, all within the Cartagena area and close to the Mediterranean.
