Deva Golf

For a golf visit to Asturias, Deva Golf offers a clearly defined format: 18 holes of Pitch & Putt in the municipality of Gijón. Every hole is a par three, giving the course a total par of 54. A golf academy and driving range complement the course, bringing teaching, practice and play together at the club.

What kind of golf to expect

The important distinction when considering Deva Golf is that this is a full 18-hole Pitch & Putt course. Rather than a layout mixing different pars, it keeps the same par-three format throughout the round. That makes the type of golf on offer clear before you visit: the emphasis is on approach play and putting, the central elements of Pitch & Putt.

Across the 18 holes, the task is to put together a round of par threes, with 54 as the overall par. For visitors looking specifically for this form of golf in Asturias, the course provides a complete round within that format. Its identity rests on those 18 par-three holes rather than on a mixture of hole types.

A place in Asturian golf

Deva Golf opened in July 2010, becoming the first 18-hole Pitch & Putt course in the Principality of Asturias. That opening gives the club a particular place in the region’s golfing history. The significance is specific: it was the first course in Asturias to offer this format over a full 18 holes.

Teaching and practice facilities

The club also has a golf academy and a driving range, each covered on its own page in this guide. These are distinct parts of the facilities alongside the course: the academy is the teaching element, while the range is dedicated to practice. Together, they add a learning and training dimension to a place whose playing layout is devoted to Pitch & Putt.

Environmental measures

Away from the scorecard, Deva Golf’s environmental management includes planting native species, using collected rainwater for irrigation and installing solar panels. These are three concrete measures associated with the club, covering planting, water use and energy. They provide another useful part of the picture when getting to know the venue, alongside its course and practice facilities.
