About the club
Around 15 minutes from central Seville, Club de Golf Hato Verde offers an 18-hole round alongside practice facilities, other sports and places to eat. Its setting by the Sierra Norte de Sevilla also puts nature routes such as the Ruta del Agua nearby. For a visitor, that leaves scope to combine golf with time in the city or a walk in the surrounding area.
Playing Hato Verde
Manuel Piñero designed the par-70 course, which the club describes as accessible and fun to play. Undulating greens are a defining feature, worth considering when planning an approach as well as reading a putt.
There are four tee options, with the following course lengths:
- White tees: 5,660 metres.
- Yellow tees: 5,387 metres.
- Blue tees: 4,959 metres.
- Red tees: 4,619 metres.
The club also offers a GPS function showing distances to the front, middle and back of each green. These references help golfers assess the depth of the putting surface when choosing an approach shot.
Practice and summer tuition
The practice area has both grass and mat hitting stations, together with areas for short-game work. This allows a session to cover more than full swings, with space to work on shots around the green too.
For visitors considering tuition during the summer, the club runs intensive courses for adults and children. These cater both for beginners and for golfers looking to improve. The golf school's activities have also included student tournaments with prizes and draws.
Family golf and club competition
A family tournament brings adults and children together through several formats and playing options. The Open Match Play rules provide for women's and men's categories, with scratch, handicap and consolation draws.
The club has also hosted the second Seville Golf Showcase, featuring nine-hole tournaments, children's activities, championships and talks. These events reflect a club programme that extends beyond the standard 18-hole round, with opportunities for younger players as well as adult golfers.
Beyond the golf course
A restaurant and a café with a terrace overlooking the course provide options for time off the fairways. Padel courts, tennis courts and a gym add other sporting activities to the facilities.
The club also has function rooms, including an events space that can accommodate up to 400 people for celebrations and business gatherings. Together with the nearby walking routes and proximity to Seville, these facilities offer ways to build a broader day around a round of golf.
