About the club

Club de Golf Escorpión is in Bétera, in the province of Valencia, within the Valencian Community. Its golf facilities bring together 27 holes that can be combined into three courses, a separate nine-hole par-3 course and extensive practice facilities. Alongside the golf, the club has a restaurant, a junior programme and services for members and their families.

Founded in 1969, Escorpión spent its early years in Manises and El Saler before moving to its current home through the initiative of its members. Over time, it developed from a family golf club into a country club with a broader social life.

Understanding the courses

Ron Kirby designed the 18-hole course that opened in 1976. The expansion to 27 holes was designed by Alfonso Vidaor, creating the current choice of combinations. Masía and Lagos are names you will encounter in both everyday play and the club’s competition programme.

Vidaor also designed the separate nine-hole par-3 course, which opened in 2005 and has a total par of 27. The Pitch & Putt is used for competitions as well as junior teaching, with children’s golf lessons incorporating activities on this course.

Practice and coaching

For golfers working on their game, the facilities include a driving range, putting greens and chipping and pitching areas. The Swing Analysis Centre uses high-speed cameras and ball-flight analysis, with individual lessons, distance testing and club fitting also available.

The golf school has more than 250 pupils, including 20 in its high-performance group, and runs weekend classes. Junior competitions are part of the sporting calendar, while the Parents and Children championship includes categories on Masía, Lagos and the Pitch & Putt.

Tournament golf and club life

Escorpión has hosted events counting towards national and world rankings, including the Copa Comunidad Valenciana. It has also staged the Spanish Adapted Golf Championship and the Valencian Community Adapted Golf Cup. The Spanish Golf Federation awarded the club its Plaque of Merit for promoting golf and organising tournaments.

Away from the courses, the restored Masía houses the club’s lounges and restaurant. Food is served throughout the day, and the catering team also handles celebrations and events. The café offers a daily set menu alongside its regular dishes.

Families have a children’s play service at weekends and on public holidays, plus activities and children’s programmes during school holidays. Members also have access to a seasonal swimming pool, physiotherapy and personal training. For questions about tee-time bookings, competitions, course conditions or the golf school, reception is the point of contact.
