Club de Golf Barcelona brings together two golf courses, an academy, practice facilities and a hotel in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, in Barcelona province, Catalonia. For a visiting golfer, the starting point is the choice between Masía Bach, an 18-hole José Mª Olazábal design, and the nine-hole Executive course.

The wider offering includes OAK Restaurante and Ba Pádel Barcelona, alongside Dolce Barcelona Resort. Golf is the focus, but it is not the only activity represented at the club: dining, padel and accommodation are also part of its facilities.

Masía Bach: Olazábal’s first design

Masía Bach was José Mª Olazábal’s first course design. It measures 6,271 metres, with 18 holes and a par of 72. That place in the designer’s career gives the course a particular point of interest for golfers who enjoy exploring the work of well-known players turned architects.

Its competition history is another part of the story. Masía Bach has hosted international tournaments, including the 2007 Catalonia Ladies Masters, as well as the Tour Peugeot Nacional. These events form part of the background to a round here, alongside the course’s connection with Olazábal.

A shorter alternative: the Executive

The Executive offers nine holes over 1,780 metres, with a par of 31. It is described as accessible while still presenting a technical challenge: the shorter format should not be taken to mean an absence of golfing demands.

The two courses therefore offer distinct choices within the same club. Masía Bach provides the 18-hole option, while the Executive has a shorter distance and a different par, as well as half the number of holes. Those are useful distinctions when deciding which course to include in a visit.

Learning and practice

The club’s golf academy sits alongside a practice area with both outdoor and covered spaces. Some practice mats have mirrors for checking posture and swing, giving golfers a visual reference as they work on their technique. This is a specific feature worth knowing about if practice is part of your golf plans.

Beyond the courses

OAK Restaurante provides the dining element, Ba Pádel Barcelona adds padel facilities, and Dolce Barcelona Resort supplies the hotel offering. Together with the academy and practice area, they extend the club’s facilities beyond its two courses.
